Coaching for First Time Leaders

A successful shift requires the that individual change their definition of success. As a high functioning individual contributor, many people measure their success in tasks and results, by what they got done. Frequently, they were given the ball and they were rewarded for running it down for the field for the win.
As a leader, they can no longer measure their success by their own individual actions, instead “I” becomes “We” and it no longer works in the long-term to take the ball and run it down the field on their own.
